Feedburner and Music
While acknowledging that I have been woefully incompetent at maintaining this blog with any form of regularity, I shall continue as though nothing has happened. Because really, not a great deal has. As with any new parent, my life has consisted primarily of helping Caren to keep Evelyn alive and growing, working, sleeping and doing my best to maintain some form of mental well being.
And how am I going in my attempts? Well, better in some than others, but in the important ones (eg keeping Evelyn and Caren alive) I’m doing quite well indeed.
Other than that, this post is ostensibly a method of testing a new feature that FeedBurner have added. That of autodetecting appropriate amazon content based on the drivel that I write in here. So, I shall just mention a couple of albums that I have been listening to recently, and we’ll see what comes up!
This week I ‘ave been mostly listening to Eskimoe Joe - “A Song Is A City” and Finn Brothers - “Everyone is Here”
Next, I’ll post something about some films that I own and we can see what happens then!
(Oh, and if you’re wondering what the hell Feedburner is, then, follow the link and we can try and work it out together.)
One month on!
So, it’s relatively hard to believe but Evelyn is one month old today! When you have a child some form of temporal distortion kicks in because it seems like she’s been here forever, but at the same time it feels like only a few days ago that we brought her home from the hospital (and made the mistake of eating Thai!).
Taking all things into consideration, it’s been a relatively uneventful month. Evelyn is a fantastic little girl, solidly going about her business of growing. Caren has been doing an astonishing job of feeding her, while I try to do whatever I can do to help. Of course, that generally comes down to all the other stuff that needs to be done (work for money for food being of major import).
We went out for our first family outing the other night, to a bbq at Smirka’s house and then to indoor cricket. While it definitely took a lot longer with Evelyn than without her, it wasn’t too much of a trauma. Just a matter of making sure we had everything, and then hoping that nothing goes horribly wrong. She didn’t sleep particularly well while out and about, but mainly just sat there.
One of the best things of having a child, and I’m sure this has been said over and over again by new parents everywhere, is watching them discover the world. Obviously Evelyn’s world ends somewhere about 2 feet from her face at the moment, but it’s still great. Every now and then she gets distracted by her hand, as it waves around. She doesn’t know what it is, but it sure looks interesting!
One month down. 17 years and 11 months to go!
Ooooh! I know! Pick Me, Pick Me!
I'm trying to resist the tempation to turn this whole blog into one long post about Evelyn, but you know, it's really hard! Especially when you get photos as cute as this one! But for the 0.1 people of you actually reading this there has been other stuff occurring. Life does continue. Work does need to be looked at, well, glanced at at least. Some of this stuff will be written about, but in the meantime there's one thing I want you all to do. And that's join Flickr . It's a free(!) online photo sharing service, and it's just fantastic. My username is Mr Sparkle. Add me to your contacts list. And then while you're at it, sign up for an account (free as well) at BlogLines and at del.icio.us
I can see what you're doing
She’s watching!
